About Us
We're Riders Who've Been There, Riding Alongside People Going Through It Now
Throttle Relief Motorsports is a peer-to-peer motocross community in Texas — built by riders, for riders, and open to everyone.
Our Mission
You Cannot Become The Person You Want To Be Unless You Let Go Of The Person You Are Now
We harness the power of motorsports to drive active recovery and mental wellness for people navigating mental health challenges — including addiction, PTSD, and suicide risk. We are not a nonprofit. We're a mission-based, for-profit company, because we believe this work is too important to depend on donations alone, and too real to water down for a grant application.
Why A Dirt Bike
We are a recovery-focused riding community — and we mean both halves of that. We use everything motocross throws at us — the focus it demands, the fear it surfaces, the falls it hands out — as live practice for the resilience we're building everywhere else. The track is where we get to choose, lap after lap, how we respond to pressure, to fear, to each other, and to our own limits. Every rep out here is a rep for the rest of our lives.
Recovery — from mental health struggles, substance use, trauma, or whatever hard chapter brought you here — is a process, not a finish line. It's change we drive ourselves, toward a life we actually want and the health to live it. There's no single path. There are as many paths as there are riders in the pits, and we lean on each other hard, because shared experience is its own kind of expertise, earned the hard way.
Trauma-Informed, In Rider Terms
A lot of us have been through real things. So we run this crew in a way that builds safety and trust instead of testing it:
- Safety — physical and emotional. The pits and the track should feel like a place you can actually breathe.
- Trust and honesty — we say what we mean, and we follow through, every time.
- Peer support and mutual help — we put our own stories on the line to build safety and hope for each other.
- Collaboration — we level the power. Nobody's above anyone here.
- Empowerment, voice, and choice — your strengths get named, your voice gets heard, and you choose your own edge.
- Culture and identity matter — bring your whole self. This program is open to everyone, and we mean it.
A Complement To Clinical Care, Not A Substitute
Neither side replaces the other: the track builds the felt experience of capability and control; therapy builds the long-term structure that makes it last. Riders come in already connected to therapy where possible, and the event becomes a lived experience they bring back into those sessions. Our team is trained to route riders to clinical follow-up when needed, rather than handling it alone.
Open To Everyone. Ready When You Are.
However you found your way here, there's a spot for you at the fence line.
